Three club runners completed the TCS New York City Marathon and over a dozen others earned top five finishes in their age groups as MRC runners took to the streets all over the east coast. Shizhong Yang, Briana Demers and Tricky Tanskley all completed the New York City Marathon on Sunday.
Yang, who has been consistently running under 2:50 for the marathon, once again achieved that mark with a 2:47:36 in NYC while Briana Demers, coming off a 2:51 Hartford Marathon just a few weeks ago ran an impressive 3:08 and Tricky Tanskley finished her best NYC full in just over 3:10.
In Florida, Matthew Pappa, Rebecca Hall and Larry Spencer all competed in the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon over the weekend while Hall also ran the 10k on top of the half.
Returning to New England, Morgan Kennedy was the winner of the Bristol (RI) Colt State Park Half in 1:11 and Tyler Lyon took 3rd in 1:16:13 to set a personal best.
MRC was most represented at Jamie's Run in Wethersfield with 13 club runners taking to the streets to raise money for Connecticut Children's Medical Center research. Making his MRC debut, Scott Bushey took second overall in 16:27 while Caitlin Roston was the 2nd female with a time of 20:20.
