MANCHESTER, Conn. (August 16, 2012) – Dick and Rick Hoyt, who have competed in over 1,000 races together – including 32 consecutive Boston Marathons, will run the Life Without Limits 5k Run, Walk & Roll in Manchester for the second straight year. Dick Hoyt pushes his son Rick, who lives with Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair, mile after mile in an effort to build the individual character, self-confidence and self-esteem of America’s disabled young people through inclusion in all facets of daily life, especially sports; the Hoyt Foundation was formed in 1989. Team Hoyt will stick around after the race for a meet and greet and book signing.

The event will take place at Globe Hollow Reservoir on Spring Street in Manchester on Saturday, September 1st. The 5k will start at 9:00 a.m. Registration will take place beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday Morning.  Cost to register is $30.00 in advance, $32.00 on race day; all proceeds will benefit United Cerebral Palsy. Team Hoyt has been an inspiration to people around the world since completing their first event together in 1977. Since then, Dick has pushed Rick to over 1,000 races ranging from Ironman triathlons to local races, they even bicycled across the country in 1992 – in just 45 days. The Hoyt’s have traveled around the world brining their primary message “Yes You Can!” to audiences large and small inspiring everyone who has been affected by a disability.

Following the race, Team Hoyt will hold a book signing featuring soon to be released “One Letter at a Time” by Dick and Rick Hoyt with Todd Civin. “Devoted — The Story of a Father’s Love For His Son” and children’s book “Rick’s Story: The Story of Rick Hoyt”.
