Rich Connors is an honorary member of the MRC Running Club for his dedication to the health and well-being of the organization. Always willing to lend a helping-hand, Rich has volunteered countless hours at MRC events while holding his own in competition. Despite relocating to Salt Lake City, Utah in the summer of 2011, Rich continues to serve as Chief Counselor to the company.
A graduate of Manchester High School, Connors was a cross country captain for MHS under Mike Bendzinski and captained the squad to its 9th consecutive CCC East XC crown in the fall of 2001. A fierce competitor, Connors focused on the 110- and 300- hurdles in High School and was the captain of the highly successful MHS Track & Field Team. Rich went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Lafayette College and competed for the Lafayette Aflicktion, the school’s club Ultimate Frisbee team.
Elevation training in Utah appears to be paying dividends, as Rich displayed great form in 2011, recently posting a new personal record at the Manchester Road Race. Connors shocked the field at the 1st Annual Manchester Beer Mile with a 7:37 performance (this is a secret event and we can’t publicize anything else about it, sorry). He continues to play Ultimate as a member of Golden Spike, Utah’s premier coed team, and is setting his sights on the half marathon distance in the Spring of 2012.
