Mike began his running career at Illing Middle School and developed into an All-State runner at Manchester High School. Part of the “fab-five”, McCall’s high school class was one of the best ever at Manchester High School taking second place in the Connecticut State Open twice and capturing a third place finish at the New England Championships.
After high school, Mike went on to run for NCAA Division II Bentley College where he was perennially on the disabled list with a wide-array of injuries. While hurt, Mike toned his other talents such as being able to consume as much food as a famished lion – he once ate an astounding 96 chicken nuggets in one sitting. Mike is also quite the singer and dancer and has a very difficult time keeping a straight face even in the most serious of circumstances.
Mike recently completed the Adirondack Marathon relay with his father and the duo took second place in the men’s relay as Mike ran the half marathon in 1:28 which would have placed him second in the open half-marathon.
McCall has a Bachelor’s Degree from Bentley College and currently lives in Watertown, Mass. and works in an office.
