Join Manchester Running Company and United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Hartford on Saturday, June 10th in Manchester for the 7th Annual Life Without Limits 5k Run, Walk & Roll and the Spring Street Mile. The distance running festival supports United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Hartford’s Camp Sunrise and features the inspirational Team Hoyt New England. The 5k event is open to all ages and abilities including a robust wheel-chair division. The Spring Street Mile is the fastest mile in Connecticut and acts as the USATF-CT Road Racing 1-Mile Championship.
The Life Without Limits 5k Run, Walk & Roll features a brand new course in 2017 that will be a double loop, avoiding a congested Globe Hollow parking lot, gravel terrain and a number of hills. This new course traverses the Charter Oak Park bike path, along with neighboring Gardener and Spring Street, and Mt. Nebo. We are confident this new course is safer, and hopefully faster! For each of the last six years, Rick and Dick Hoyt have been special guests of the event and it’s a great chance to meet this inspirational team. The cost of the 5k is just $25 through the end of May and there are significant discounts available for groups. All runners receive a pair of running socks and prizes are available for the top runners in several age categories. The event typically draws 250-300 participants.
The Spring Street Mile is one of the speediest events in the region, and offers separate races for men, women, and children along with a race-walking division for those interested in trying out a new event! The mile is a slightly downhill adventure with some of the fastest men and women in the state; this is the USATF-CT one mile road racing championship. Substantial prize money is available for the top three runners in each race (not including kids) and bonus money is also available for the first runner through the half-mile and 3/4-mile marks. The first 100 pre-registered runners receive a very nice mason jar and some other MRC goods may be available. Custom bibs will be made for anyone registered by May 20th.
The schedule of events is as follows:
9:00 a.m. – Women’s Mile Start
9:10 a.m. – Men’s Mile Start
9:15 a.m. – Kids Mile and Racewalk
9:30 a.m. – 5k Wheelchair Start

Parking, restrooms, and registration will be held at Globe Hollow Reservoir beginning 7:30 a.m. for the mile and 8:00 a.m. for the 5k. Ample parking is available at Globe Hollow with overflow parking across the street at Mt. Nebo.
