October 31, 2012 — The victories and personal bests are piling up for Manchester Running Company runners so far this fall with plenty of racing left to do!
Ashley Gurzler remains undefeated during the 2012 fall campaign and is coming off a season best 17:55 at Run MS: a Spooktacular 5k on October 27th. Ashley was the first female finisher and took third overall; she is now undefeated in six races this fall.
Garrett Ash has shown speed over a wide range of distances from 5k to the half marathon. Garrett took first place over the weekend at Run MS: A spooktacular 5k at Rentschler Field in East Hartford in a time of 16:01. Ash was third at the Hartford Marathon 5k earlier in the month in a time of 16:02. Prior to the Hartford Marathon 5k, Ash was the runner up at the Hogsback Half Marathon in 1:16:52.
Jake Gurzler has continued to show he is one of the elites in the area as he cruised to victory in the Columbia Autumn Classic in 15:49, winning by over two minutes. Jake is aiming for a top-25 finish at the Manchester Road Race.
MRC’s youngest member, Harold McCarty, set an age group record at the Hogsback Half Marathon on September 22nd as the ten year old completed the course in just 2:03:28, finishing with his father Mark.
Mark McCarty set a personal best at the Hartford Marathon this year with a time of 3:54:54 and is beginning his recovery so he can set a PR at the Manchester Road Race.
Ryan Miller debuted in the half marathon, setting a solid first-time mark at the Hartford Half in 1:30:18.
Carrie Corbett made her debut in the marathon a good one as she finished as the third overall woman at the Bay State Marathon with a time of 2:59:26!
Many of the MRC Club members have plans to continue fall racing and finishing off their season at the Manchester Road Race.
