2010 Results

Race Day Registration Begins at 5:00 p.m. in the Globe Hollow Parking Lot!

On Friday, June 11, 2010 the Pride in Manchester Committee will host their first Pride in Manchester 5k.  The race will be directed by Manchester Running Company.  Stick around after the races for awards and free ice cream for all participants! Details below

When: Friday, June 11, 2010;  Open 5k at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Globe Hollow Reservoir, Spring St. Manchester, CT; Open 5k map can be viewed here

Cost:  Pre-Registration: $10.00 Youth (under 14), $18.00 Open

Race Day Registration: $10.00 Youth, $20.00 Open
Maximum Cost per family: $45.00
Proceeds benefit Pride in Manchester and Manchester Heritage Week.
Registration will take place online here (Online Registration Here), you can mail in your registration with this form (PIM Registration 2010) or register on race day in the Globe Hollow Parking lot.

Parking: Parking will be available on a limited basis at Globe Hollow, ample parking is available at Mt. Nebo Park  just across the street, and limited parking may be available at Martin School- a very short walk/jog from the starting line. Please do not park along the race route and do NOT block driveways, Manchester Running Company is not responsible for towed or ticketed vehicles.

Restrooms: Restrooms/Locker rooms will be available at Globe Hollow

The Course: Starting on Spring St. just outside the Globe Hollow Reservoir Parking lot the course heads east (slight uphill) on Spring St. and makes a right on to Dartmouth Rd.; follows Dartmouth Rd. (flat) to Fern St. and heads east (gradual uphill) towards Gardner St.; heading north on Gardner St. (flat) the course then turns right onto Timrod for a gradual uphill, a quick left onto Tam Rd. will dump you out onto Spring St. where you cruise downhill for an entire mile to the finish at Globe Hollow.

Divisions/Awards:

Overall Male and Female Winners will receive awards and winners in each of the following age categories:  under 13, 14-18, 19-39, 40-59, 60-79, 80+

Manchester Winners:  First Male and Female Manchester resident to cross the finish line will receive a $50.00 gift certificate to the Manchester establishment of your choice.  (Manchester establishment means something that is unique to Manchester; i.e. chain restaurants are not included)

Other prizes include gift certificates to the following establishments:  Manchester Pizza, Shady Glen, Harvest, Great Harvest, Parkade Cinemas, National Amusements, Stone Age Rock Gym, Applebee’s, New Balance, Eastern Mountain Sports, Hair By Design, Catsup & Mustard, Farr’s, Wooster St. Pizza Shop, and more!

Results/Timing: The Last Mile Racing will handle the timing and results.  Results will be available at the finish line shortly after the conclusion of the race; results will also be posted online here and at Coolrunning.com

Refreshments: Royal Ice Cream for everyone to cool off post-race!  We will also have samples of new Wheaties Fuel and plenty of water

T-Shirts: T-shirts will be available to the first 100 pre-registered participants! We are working on a nice design.
