Tyler Lyon highlighted the weekend results for Manchester Running Company club runners with a win at the Marathon 2 Marathon (Texas) on Saturday morning in 2:50:25; it was Tyler’s third marathon in three weeks. Lyon took third at the Newport Marathon earlier this month and paced the 3:30 group of the Hartford Marathon last weekend. Lyon outdistanced his nearest opponent by over ten minutes.
Not to be outdone, Amanda Rossolimo was the winner of the women’s division of the Tackle the Trail 20-miler a little closer to home in Pomfret over the weekend in an impressive 2:21:39. Jacob Gardner took th win in the Huskies Forever 5k in Storrs in 18:14.
In the unseasonable warm weather, Matt Davis and Bill Yost each hit Boston Marathon qualifying times by over ten minutes at the Bay State Marathon. Davis ran a personal best by a landslide with a 3:03:46 clocking and at the age of just 65 years young, Yost debuted at the marathon and with time of 3:57:30, to clear his sub-4 goal by 2:30.
Four club runners took to the streets of D.C. for the Marine Corps Marathon and Eric Johnson ran a personal best 4:09:17 while Peter Lee (3:22), Mary Schubert (4:53) and Larry Solinsky (4:23) joined the fun as well.
