Beards & Beers 5k for Men’s Health November 22nd

Manchester Running Company is teaming up with MMNT CPA’s and the Curtis D. Robinson Men’s Health Institute to bring you the Beards & Beers 5k on November 22nd in Manchester and South Windsor. The race, in conjunction with No Shave November is aimed at helping raise funds and awareness for men’s health in the region. The Curtis D. Robinson Men’s Health Institute is part of Saint Francis Care and Medical Center.

The race will start and finish at MMNT’s headquarters on Chapel Road in Manchester and is very flat and hopefully very fast. The course will be closed to traffic and travels into portions of South Windsor, it will finish with a very short uphill into the parking lot at MMNT. You can check out the loop course here.

Registration will be just $20 until the end of August, the price will then jump up to a very affordable $25 until November 15th at which point it will increase slightly again to $30 – moral of the story, register ahead of time to save some money!

The event, while man-themed, welcomes and encourages women and children of course. What better way to spend a Saturday morning then admiring men’s beards while they run as fast as they can over 5k? Prizes will be available for the top 2 in each of the standard age categories (under 18 and then every 10 years) and we’ll give out some cash prizes to the top three men and women overall. Following the mid-morning race (11 a.m. start), we’ll have a manly post-race party with a live band, wings, some beers and a few other treats to go along with it.

Parking for the race will be available at Raymour & Flanigan on Chapel Rd. Please do not park at MMNT – that’s where the start/finish, registration, restrooms and all the fun is; you’d be raining on the parade if you parked there.

The Curtis D. Robinson Men’s Health Institute is a pretty awesome organization and they are looking out for our man parts with patient education, early diagnosis, health screens, and monthly support, including financial support, for those with or at risk for prostate cancer.

A few other housekeeping items: we will have custom bibs, the race will be chip timed, it’s an awesome tune up for the Manchester Road Race, results will be up soon after the race, it’s rain or shine, and finally we’re going to have a great time.

The race address is 160 Chapel Rd. in Manchester.

If you can’t race but still want to contribute that would be the bees knees (awesome). You can do so┬áby contributing here.
